Prayer Meeting 11th Jun 2008 – Abundance

Many times we come to prayer meeting with a perspective that we are there to minster, to pray. However, that evening, God was there to minister to us instead! So take heart! ~Jn15

There are some pointers evaluated: First, there is the pruning process. Then you can be a seedling to bear fruits!

Jn12:24-25~ allow our lives to FALL DOWN to experience the multiplication, fruitfulness of God, grace of God, and His abundance.

A seed can have 2 directions: a) burst forth into abundance or b) remain as a seek, lacking sufficiency. A seed goes through a cycle of being thrown into the dust, covered with dust, and blown with the wind, and their only outer shell is torned apart and stripped away.

I just wanna share this. Since I’m working for Acher Daniels Midland Cocoa, a commodity firm that buys cocoa beans to make them into cocoa butter, liquor, cake, etc. These cocoa beans are also stripped of their shells. Why? Because the inside is the most valuable part! That’s where you can find the fragance and the taste of cocoa!! Cocoa on first hand tastes really really bitter, but after processing, it taste heavenly! Am I right?? Hence, during the pruning process it’s painful to be stripped off positions, etc and it’s bitter when you are rejected, etc..however, after a process of moulding we become His warriors and step into His calling..His heavenly annointing upon our lives!! God’s positioning us for greater!

Remember: allow others to contribute to your abundance. Don’t allow pride to allow yourself to reject other’s offer. You guys can look into the book Esther has on networking. Don’t think independence is always the condition of life. Although that’s what the world is working towards. Our dependence would be on Him. Hence, if He brings someone (our colleagues, friends, etc) to bless us, please receive it.

2 Kings 4:17~ Allow others to speak into your life. God can choose anyone to speak. It can be through ministers (how P.Dom speaks to his friend from the pulpit to the congregation). God can also use people close to you, or even your foe(someone you dislike perhaps..haha); the story of the samaritans and Jesus. Don’t allow pride(comparing one another’s status, age, gender, etc) to prevent yourself from receiving a word of affirmation, an advice for direction (to do missions, to take up this job, etc).

So take heart pple. Allow the Holy Spirit to lead you to discern the directions He has for you, and to receive His abundance He has intended for you.

CCI1 & 5 Love Languages

We covered this during cell, and I thought maybe I could recap it here.

#1. CCI1

-We concluded that something changes when you do the opposite of the norm; to keep your own notes from other schoolmates.

-little things can do wonders; a simple sentence to your friend, a book to your oikos, etc.

-pray about 2 things before you meet someone: 1)understanding 2)revelation

-make the house the altar of Lordship by worshipping within the living room, etc.

-to pray: depend on Him, make sacrifices, spend time with Him

-prayer synchronize: 6am, 6.30am, 7am, 11am, 11pm, 1am (select your time slots!!)

#2. 5 Love Languages

Just to recap: Quality Time, Touch, Acts of services, Words of Affirmation, gifts

Here’s the scroll for the cell:

John: (wants to receive): words of affirmation, (gives to others): words of affirmation

Ellen: (wants to receive): acts of services, words of affirmation, (gives to others): touch, words of encouragement, acts of services.

ZiYu: (wants to receive): acts of services, (gives to others): acts of services & words of affirmation/encouragement

Nicky: (wants to receive): acts of services, words of affirmation/written words, quality time, (gives to others): touch, quality time, words of affirmation

MinMin: (wants to receive): quality time, written words/words of affirmation, (gives to others): acts of services, gifts

Esther: (wants to receive): quality time, words of affirmation, touch, (gives to others): touch, quality time, words of affirmation

Grace: (wants to receive): touch, quality time, (gives to others): quality time, acts of services

#3. When you’ve received words of affirmation

You’re not there yet. Don’t stop there. Continue to work on them, and rise up to the level.

#4. Evaluations

a) Speaking in tongues as a “joke”

A no-no, as we don’t wanna use His name, His language that is a gift to us to be a joke and used in vain. It disturbs the spirit, and hence affects us when we wanna really engage in the Spirit in tongues subsequently.

b) “weng weng”

We are called to be Holy, according to the Bible, because He(Jesus Christ, and God head three in one) is Holy. Therefore it would throw a fellow brother or sister into confusion, and instead of them rising up and coming forth, they would withdraw. Their passion and conviction would be held back. We wanna see our fellow bros and sis growing am I right? Just be mindful from now on at our jokes, and we can even help one another along the way.

It’s always to good to set first ourselves apart, before others do, so that others would follow suit. Amen.

c) Segregation of singers and muscians+co-leaders+WL+pastor

I believe this didn’t happen with any ill intention. BUt I also believe that we should move away from the traditional and conventional mindset that we only mix around with people of our traits. If you would to unlearn that mindset, you diversify your topics of conversation to the others, you would find that you could learn something from them. This is proven! Hence, perhaps on a sunday at PL (that’s where there’s breakfast, other than other services) we could disperse as singers to sit with the ME singers and with the musicians and co-leaders. Unlearn the mindset and break the mindset that the musicians and the co-leaders are the “important people” and the rest are the “not-so-important people”. We can also organise outings together with the ME singers, to give them a sense of belonging. Also during productions, we need not stick to our comfort zone, mix around with new district folks. They are very nice people. Don’t be afraid to converse together with the “directors and committee leaders” of the production. I hope you guys get the message.

Doing things that pleases Him is an act of worship to the Lord.

Jamming session

Pray for Ellen & husband

This was extracted from MinMin’s email. The cell has decided to set aside time to cover Ellen and family with prayers. MinMin would send out prayer pointers that God has impressed upon her heart. Lets take this chance to exercise covenantal relationship!!

Ellen, know that you are not standing alone for just like Elisha, those who are with you are more than those who are against you.

1. Guard – Dressing Ellen and Michael in the full armour of God (prayer pointer for saturday)
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will GUARD your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4:6-7 (NIV)

Yo people, are you ready for a battle? Prayer warriors, we can’t battle unless we are dressed appropriately in the full armour of God!

I was praying last night and then a sense of heaviness came upon my heart. God later revealed the word “GUARD” to me.

Mighty warriors, let’s pray against discouragement, disappointment and brokenheartedness right now, that ellen will not remain crushed in the spirit regarding her circumstances. Pray that Ellen will guard her heart and mind against any lies from the enemy and ask God to strengthen Ellen’s heart. Pray also for Michael, that God will guard his life, mind and soul. Pray for ellen and michael, that God will guard their marriage.

Today, Let’s begin our prayer by dressing ellen and michael in the armour of God, that they will withstand any swords or arrows from the enemy by guarding their hearts and minds.

Amen!!

When you are tired & hungry

Imagine this:

You had a long journey with a group of friends and came to a small town. Your friends left you and went to shops nearby to buy lunch and drinks. Now you are waiting for them to come back. You are worn out, dead tired, super hungry and extremely thirsty. 30 minutes later they came back with lots of da-bao food and drinks. They bought your favourite hor fun char kuey teow.

“Hallalejuh thank you Jesus for the food!!!”  *slurp slurp slurp* “Mmmm.. yummy…”

Now let’s rewind the scene back a little bit to the time where you were left alone while your friends had gone to buy food. There comes a young man, with some tatoos on his arms, looked drunk but didn’t seem to be harmful to you, you know, that kind that looks like life is meaningless to him?

Then the Holy Spirit says, ”Tell this man that if he opens his heart and believe in Jesus, he will be given a new life and new hopes”.

What will you do?

I guess for me I will tell God “ha.. I dunno how to leh”.. “God.. is that you speaking?” .. “God.. I’m hungry, when’s my food coming?”

Then my friends came back with the food and drinks.

“Hallalejuh thank you Jesus for the food!!!”  *slurp slurp slurp* “Mmmm.. yummy…”

So we left after eating and continue with the rest of the hourney. The memory on this man slowly vanishes and I never see him again.

Similar settings, Jesus was tired, worn out. But when the opportunity came, Jesus did what the Father had called him to do. When his disciples came back and urge him to eat some food, Jesus’ respond shocked me “No. I have food you don’t know about. My nourishment comes from doing the will of God who sent me, and from finishing his work.”

Wow! How he places the importance of doing God’s work far above any worldly concerns and even his own physical needs! How passionate he is about the lost and the souls that the Father is going to give him.

Urgency

Sorry Nicky, it was me (Grace) who has edited Rachael’s entry and tagged it as “Posted by Nicky”, coz I thought it sounded like it came from you. Anyway, i’ve changed it.

Anyway..Thanks to all who have been updating this blog in expression of love to the people around the world and also to articulate the urgency to spread the love of God to the unsaved ones.

Many times messages after messages have been regurgitating the urgency. We’ve even seen the many signals. Hence, we should take the first step, so that others could take the second. yeah?

Continue pursuing after the Lover of our souls!

Also continue to desire to be a blessing wherever you go! ~2 Cor 1:4

as we were sharing that day, a thought came to me.
people may be thinking that we are in the end times, but not yet! not only cos i haven’t fulfilled my destiny..hehe but also because the word have not been preached to the whole world yet. .

Matthew 24:14 (Whole Chapter)
And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come

there are still people who haven’t heard and want to HEAR! they need to hear. do you believe that?

just finished chapter one of my textbook for the evangelism module.
The author asked a daunting question in the midst of the chapter, if we truly believe that Jesus Christ is the best way to live and the only way to die. This is the main thrust and heart of evangelism, in seeing the desperate need for people to know Jesus because there is no other way! The urgency of the matter would be another factor propelling not just the individual but also the entire body of Christ to reach out quickly. This vision and mission have somehow been watered down in many of our personal lives and in our corporate church body today.

just a reminder brothers and sisters, that for the 1 that we would care, connect and intercede, even for that 1, Jesus would still come, be crucified and be ressurected. even if it’s just that 1 we are reaching out to, Jesus still would.
